I have to admit that there is something a little depressing about the New Year. It would seem that ringing in the a new year should be fresh and exciting...however, it's like the first quarter is all about dealing with the remnants of the previous one.

I have high hopes though. I am not sure what tomorrow brings, but I certainly hope for the best.

Artistically, I am setting a goal for two (at a minimum) completed full figured sculptures this year. I will actually mold and cast these myself for I come to understand this is the only way to preserve pieces (yep, unfortunately sculpey will become too brittle).

Only two?!? you might ask...well, between family, church and work (2 jobs) it's a little difficult to fit in clay slinging. It's just the way it is. I would like to do both a male and female piece. The male is already under way as the Batman. Sure there are a lot of bat pieces out there, but a friend at church has inspired me to do it since he is a long time bat fan. I have not decided on the female; although, I saw a supergirl on DA here that was truly inspiring. But, that's yet to be determined.

I will also continue to learn the anatomy as much as I can doing doodles, watching vids, studying photos as much as I can.

Keeping it simple for '09 and looking forward to all the good art that will be displayed here at DA!!
